Horror movies are like bhindi; either you love them or you hate them.

There is no middle state.

I love horror movies and I’m not ashamed of it.

According to me, there are two types of people. Those who love horror movies and the ones who not only dislike them but despise, detest, loathe and ridicule them.

But tell you what, it needs special kind of people to like them

People like me!

I once shared this love with one of my cousins and one sister-in-law. Both of them now have kids and busy lives but there was once a time when we actually used to discuss at length, the gruesomeness and gory details of these movies.

Now for the beginners, there are different types of horror movies.

Needless to say I have seen all sorts.

1. Surgery related

There is a type in which the villain is a medical enthusiast, who couldn't get right grades to get into the medical college and compensate his love for medical profession by cutting up body parts, bit by bit, of the movie characters for fun.

These characters are mostly found in movies related to asylums, a ditched tunnel, or in a lone house in deep dark woods and most of the times they speak a foreign language or utter just sounds.

2. House with cheap rent

Another kind is when there's an abandoned house with all kinds of spirits roaming by. A couple of murders here and there are a compulsory part of that house’s past.

In these type of movies, the last scene usually has a closure in a way that either the main character loses a relative, turns into a spirit or burns the house.

3. Religious Entertainment

These movies essentially have somebody possessed by a devil or evil spirit from afterlife. In these, a very simple next-door-girl or a priest overnight turns into a sultry and evil monster and goes on a bloody rampage.

4. What the hell movies?

This is pretty interesting kind. You keep on watching the whole movie, pretty engrossed and thrilled at every passing scene waiting to see what happens next.

What really happens? you never really get to know.

Why? because when the movie ends, it is left hanging in mid air. And when you look back and start recalling you say to yourself WTF!!!

And then you realize there was absolutely no story, no plot nothing.

You were FOOLED!

So basically,

There are gross ones and there are intelligent ones that you later find out that were pretty stupid.

BUT,

BUT!

There are some pretty scary ones as well,

The ones that gives you the thrill, the goosebumps, the adrenaline rush and scary sleepless nights, and which make you come back for more and more and that is why you just can't stop watching horror movies

At Least that's my reason, what's yours?
